Goodreads Integration

Integrating Goodreads with Comity allows you to quickly and easily see your book lists in your news.

What is Goodreads?

Goodreads is a "social cataloging" website that allows individuals to freely search its database of books, annotations, and reviews. Users can sign up and register books to generate library catalogs and reading lists. They can also create their own groups of book suggestions, surveys, polls, blogs, and discussions.

Connecting Goodreads

1. Go to the "News" feed in your Comity dashboard.

2. Click "Add Integration".

3. Find Goodreads in the list and click "Connect".

Scheduling Post from Goodreads News

1. Go to the "News" feed in your Comity dashboard.

2. Click "Goodreads" in the left sidebar, which will filter the feed to display news from your Goodreads account.

3. Click the "Share" button on the news you want to create a post.

4. Post Editor will automatically capture the link for this news.

5. You can use "Add Shortcut" icon to insert information about the news and get assistance to generate a post.

Dismissing News

Comity will only check for books added to your reading lists to display in your news.

If you find the news suggestion not worth to share on social media, you can click "Dismiss" to remove it from your feed. You can also clear the entire feed by clicking "Dismiss all" button anytime.

Comity does not backup any news data and the news that is older than 30 days will automatically be deleted even if you do not dismiss them.

Disconnecting Goodreads

1. Go to the "Accounts" settings page.

2. Find Goodreads under Integrations list and click "Remove".
